The last day of regular firearms season in Maryland proved to be very productive for this hunter! Right at first light 3 does ran through the field, coming from my left, and the largest doe stopped broadside only 20 yards in front of my stand. BOOM! My 30.06 slung the Nosler bullet and knocked it dead in its tracks.
The other 2 does didn’t react to my shot at all. So, I steadied my aim on the doe to my left that was even closer than the one I just shot. Boom! It was just 7:00 AM and I had 2 does going into the freezer.
We quartered out the does and brought them back to the house for processing. A short time later and we have meat ready for the freezer, which means more meat on the table!
