Years Hunting: 17
I became addicted to hunting and shooting at the young age of 8 years old. Fortunately, my father made it a point to introduce my older brother and I to the outdoor world and frequently had us tag along on a hunt in the woods, clay targets at the farm, or just shooting guns in my grandfather’s backyard. It was a proud moment in my life when my father took me deer hunting with him for the first time and that was all it took for me to be fully hooked. I still continue the tradition of hunting the first day of gun season in Maryland with my family. Seventeen years without missing an opening morning together with my brother and father.
I currently live in Northern Virginia and work in the Information Technology field, but escape to the woods as much as possible. I archery hunt in Virginia and still make multiple trips back to Maryland to gun hunt a farm that my family leases.
My favorite hunting tradition is the trip my family takes around New Year’s Day. My father, brother, uncle, grandfather and I go to Native Shore Hunting Preserve and hunt pheasants and chukars. We’ve been doing this since I could barely hold a .410 steady and still continue this tradition.
Below are a few hunting pictures taken over the years:
