Years Hunting: 8

I didn’t start hunting until an older friend offered to take me duck hunting. We didn’t see a single bird that morning, but watching the sun rise over that pond mesmerized me. I will never forget that cold November morning in the rolling hills of Carroll County, Maryland. For the first time in my life, I truly understood nature’s uncomplicated beauty. From that point on, I was hooked on hunting. I currently live in Elkridge Md, with a house full of kids and Labradors.

I enjoyed all types of hunting, but waterfowl is my true passion. Thus far, I have hunted Canadas in foothills of Appalachia, to diving ducks on Virginia’s eastern shore. Last year, I had the pleasure of hunting with my Black Lab, Smokey. Through a lot of hard work and training, she earned her stripes with twenty five retrieves in the field.

My favorite hunting tradition is the opening day of duck season in Maryland. The past two years, I’ve had a wonderful time hunting with fraternity brothers in the marshes of Taylors Island.
